help with Munich airport
Hi, we will be flying out of the Munich airport very early in the morning. We will need to be at the airport around 5 a.m. My question is...should we spend our 2 nights in Munich around the airport area, or should we stay in the city center and train to the airport that morning? Does everything to the airport run 24/7? Thanks for your help. Jeri

Hi J,
The trains to the airport start running at 03:18. The 04:18 arrives at 04:57. See www.bahn.de ((I)) |
Please note that you ride the S-Bahn to the airport, part of the greater Munich transportation system. It is not the DB rail line that takes you there.

It is a DB rail line, brookwood. S-Bahn is run by DB in most (though not all) German cities. |
I would not stay out at the airport, especially not for two nights.
You can get to the airport on two S-Bahn lines; the S-1 and the S-8 although one may run earlier in the AM than the other. You can find a map here: http://www.toytowngermany.com/munich...ubahn_map.html There is plenty of room in the regular S-Bahn cars for your luggage, especially at that hour. Of course, you could get a taxi which would cost more. You might want to consider staying in hotels located close to the S/U-Bahn stops such as the main rail station, the Marienplatz, or Rosenheimer Platz, etc. |

Just chiming in to agree with the others - stay in town :) The ride to the airport takes about 45 minutes from the main train station, so I would just get up extra early the morning of the flight rather than spending time travelling back and forth between town and the airport.
