Help with logistics to Corsica

Hello!
Been looking for ways to get to Calvi, France without having to break the bank nor have to make so many stops.
Going from Orlando to Calvi. Would like to arrive June 23 and return June 30.
Was thinking of flying into europe direct flight or 1 stop and either taking a european flight or a ferry into Corsica and ultimately Calvi.
Any suggestions?
Did a search MCO to CLY but it's 3 stops and still expensive.
Or maybe flying to london and taking a flight to calvi?
I'm sure someone can shed some light to what seems like a very complicated trip.
Thank you so much in advance.

I have not been to Corsica you can't help specifically with that destination, but I often go someplace in Europe that is difficult to reach from the US - as you say - involving 3 stops and quite expensive. So I usually fly to London (which I usually do non-stop) and then fly Easyjet to where ever I ultimately want to go. You can fly just about anywhere from London usually extremely inexpensively. I've been doing that for the past several years usually for about half the cost and no long layovers in airports. HOWEVER - I always schedule myself at least one night in London, I don't schedule second flight on the same day as my transatlantic flight arrives. Cause then you risk missing the second flight if the first is delayed, and since it will be on separate tickets you'd be out of luck and have to purchase a full fare last minute ticket. I love London and enjoy having a day or two each trip there but if you only have a total of one week then that would eat up a chuck of your time.

Trying to go to a fairly remote European location Saturday to Saturday, unfortunately, will be expensive. We are going to Calvi in the fall, but we are fortunate to have flexibility and will arrive via ferry from Livorno, Italy, to Bastia and rental car to Calvi. Many others arrive via ferry from Nice, France, but I don’t believe they go directly to Calvi. The airports at Bastia and Ajaccio appear to offer more options, but then you need time, a bus, train or expensive taxi. You might get a somewhat reasonably priced flight on Norwegian from Orlando (about $1,000 RT in late June) and try connections from say Paris, but you will have few options on a fairly tight schedule. As Isabel suggested, Easy Jet is also our first go-to for many European locations (i.e. we also book a cheap RT to Europe and look for inexpensive Easy Jet options to other locations). We have also found Volotea (a growing Spanish airline) as an excellent next choice. And there are others. We try to avoid Ryan, but sometimes their prices are too hard to resist. We are flying out of Sardinia via Volotea, but see that they do fly into Ajaccio and Bastia, but again these flights only go to smaller European airports. One disadvantage of the discount carriers, if there are multiple airports (London, for example), they may fly out of a lesser-used airport causing some transfer issues. Wish I could be more positive, but I am sure you will enjoy Calvi.

That's what I was looking at. A non stop flight to London or Paris. But then the tickets from LGW to Calvi is almost $600 each for example. Ouch. I agree and will keep looking into this. Thank you!

It's either several stops or pay even more than the already high ticket price. Thank you for sharing your tips. I will try Bastia as an alternative. My brother in law offered to pick me up which is so sweet of him. That's how much he wants to me go! ha ha Thank you so much!
