help with itinerary for Paris with three children
hi everyone, we will finally be going on our European trip next week. I thank the members of this forum who have helped me tremendously in both the planning and execution stages of this trip.
I am trying to put together an itinerary whore Paris as we will be there for five nights beginning upon our arrival on Saturday.
So far I have scheduled a visit to Notre Dame on Sunday followed by a fat tire bike tour in the afternoon. For Monday I have scheduled a lunch at the Eiffel Tower at 1:30 PM and plan to visit the Trocadero section before going up to the tower.
Tuesday has not been scheduled yet and I would appreciate any advice people may have as to what to do on Tuesday.
Wednesday has a louvre tour with the Paris Muse people to try to entertain the children as well as a seine cruise in the evening.
Although plenty of time will be spent touring Paris and discovering things.
Please let me know if there is something that I missed for Tuesday that would be fine as the date is free. By the way the children are aged 11,9 and 7. Thanks again for all your help.

I'd suggest checking out parks and playgrounds for running around time, and allowing plenty of time for Paris Plages:

There are traditional carousels at various locations; from memory there's one in the Tuileries and somewhere near the Trocadero.
What about boat trips, such as up the Canal St Martin (through some locks, and up to the Bassin de la Villette, where there will be some Paris Plages facilities; you could walk further on to the Parc de la Villette, masses of open space and the Cité des Sciences)? Or the Batobus?

(There's only one Europe forum; you could ask to have it tagged for France, so that if there's anyone who accesses only threads about France, they would be sure to see it; but most visitors are likely to know from the thread title if it's something they can help with - how many other Parises are there in Europe?)

There is no France forum, only a general European forum. I've asked the editors to tag this for France so no need to repost.
Paris has such a diversity of things to do that it's difficult to choose a few things without knowing anything about you and your children. What are your interests. Do you have anything else scheduled on other days as your itinerary (contrary to many other people) is very light.
Perhaps one of the (many) parks or botanical gardens for outdoor activities.
A French Revolution walking tour.

For your tuesday, I second a day of activities at Bassin de la Villette. There's also a boules course, if you want to play together, but the emphasis is on water sports. Combine this with a visit to adventurous Parc des Buttes Chaumont, which is two blocks from Bassin de la Villette. It's the more scenic of Paris parks, surprisingly, tourists never go there, because it's too much out of the way of usual sights. Buttes Chaumont is also close to Canal st Martin, which is less interesting to children I think.
My son couldn't stand boat rides, too boring, but he loved Paris Plages. There's also one close to Hotel de Ville, on the Seine, and you can take a shuttle boat from there to Bassin de la Villette. My son even loved the Polynesian dance class at PP. He learned to do a tolerable haka that he still likes to indulge in.

We've just come back from our trip and we all loved the Luxembourg gardens! They are so beautiful and big! There's pony rides and a carousel and a lake where u can sail little boats. There's also a puppet show and a playground and beautiful places for you to sit and watch the children or just relax. We also did the fat bike tour! your grandchildren and you will love this- it was a highlight of our trip!
