Help with Italy Itinerary
Hello everyone
We have not purchased our tickets yet but we plan on traveling into Rome and out of Rome. Once we arrive to Rome we plan on taking the train to Capri for 4 nights then making our way back to Florence for 4 nights, then to Vince for 4 night and ending our trip back in Rome for another 4 nights. Is this possible? Any input would be greatly appreciated. |
You can take a train from Rome to Naples, but from there you have to take a boat to Capri.
If you haven't booked yet, fly into Rome and out of Venice. It's called Multiple City or Multiple Destination on most booking sites. it might cost a little more than a straight return, but it will save you time and money backtracking. |
Yes, fly an "open jaw" into one city and out of the other, to avoid backtracking and wasting time. Better yet, fly into Venice and out of Rome if possible. The problem with flying out of Venice is that flights tend to leave early, and getting to the Venice Marco Polo airport early can be expensive from Venice. To fly out of Rome, you can take a train to the airport pretty economically, and the flights tend to leave a bit later. This would require you to reverse your itinerary a bit, though, of course.

Andrew... how would you reverse?
