Help with Italy in July- 15/16 days

I am in the process of planning our trip to Italy this summer for a friend's wedding. We will have approximately 16 days with our travel days. I have reserved a room at the hotel near the wedding in Tuscany for the last 5 days of our trip. It is a small town outside of Montecatini and I thought at that point we could rent a car to explore Tuscany and possible train to Pisa and/or Florence. My initial thought was to fly into Tome and spend about four days and then possibly try to spend a few days at the Amalfi Coast before taking a train to venice. From Venice, I thought we'd head to Florence or the hotel for the wedding. My friend recommended Cinque Terre or Lake Como, but I'm not sure if we'll have time for it all. Perhaps trying to squeeze in the Amalfi Coast in summer is not the best thing? I just thought it might be nice to get a break from the city in the summer... Any help, suggestions, guidance would be appreciated. Thanks!

July is hot and many places will be crowded.
Lake Como could be more of a plesant break than the cost

I understand this isn't the ideal time to travel to Italy because of the heat and the crowds, but due to the wedding, we have little choice. I am thankful to have the opportunity to see this wonderful country regardless of the weather or amount of tourists.

Do you have a specific question?

Hi J,

I would fly into Naples, see the AC; go up to Rome; train to Venice, rent a car; go to your wedding and visit Tuscany; drop car and fly home from Pisa PSA, Florence FLR or Bologna BLQ.

There is bus service between Siena and Florence.

In what is basically only 2 weeks, without travelling, I'd only try to fit in 2 bases - either Venice/Tuscany or Rome/Tuscany.
