Help with Hotels - Recommendations needed for Prague & Cesky Krumlov
I'm helping my mom & aunt plan a trip to europe and I'm looking for hotel recommendations. They are in their late 60's early 70's and healthy / mobile. They would like to stay in / near the tourist attractions. Probably 2 nights in Cesky and 3 or 4 in Prague. Their budget is $100-$150 for Prague and whatever is reasonable in Cesky Krumlov.
My wife and I stayed at Hotel U Klenotnika seven years ago and liked it but I'm sure Prague has changed a bit since 1998.
Thanks in advance for any help/advice!

Here's one just under $150/night for a double - a very nice place right in Old Town Prague:

Have you checked livingprague.com? It's got a wealth of good information and recommendations, written by a tourist-turned-Prague-resident. The Pension Dientzenhofer, recommended above, gets good reviews on this site and may be in your price range. For next month, however, things will be pretty booked by now, won't they? For quick info, search this board for answers to more specific questions.

My husband and I just returned from Prague. We stayed in Hotel U Klenotnika and really liked it. It was about $150/night. As you know, it is well located, but it is also very comfortable. The only issue is that they do not have an elevator. There is a lift for bags though. I would stay there again.

I recommend an inquiry to www.athos.cz for Prague (we stayed in an apartment - - only had a three-night minimum) on Zatec.
In CK, I can recommend http://barbakan.cz - - similar location to Ruze, and cheaper, I think.
Best wishes,
Rex

I was in Prague about 6 years ago. And I used a travel agent based in Prague, a husband and wife team by the name of Margarit and Jarek JANULIK. They can be reached at 0042-060-231-2575 or 002-060-221-8381
We had a 2 story flat in the center of town with an awesome view of Prague Castle. They even picked us up from the airport at 10pm to take us to our incredible flat with a spiral staircase and marble bathroom with a jacuzzi bath tub.
The day we left Prague to Cesky Krumlov, they picked us up and took us to the train station.
I hope the # is still good.
I don't have the hotel info we stayed at in Cesky Krumlov. But we loved it there too!
Have a great trip!
