Help with Hotels in Spain
I am in the process of planning a trip to Spain in April and I would like help with hotel planning. In my previous query on this board regarding my proposed itinerary, I received some very valuable input that allowed me to fine tune my plans and I am hoping for the same great responses.
I will be traveling solo so I am happy with a single. With the terrible exchange rate with the dollar, I am looking for single rooms that average $100 to $125 a night. I don’t require much in a hotel room but I do like a central location and a non-smoking room. After reviewing hotel recommendations on trip advisor and on this board, I am considering the following options Madrid –Hotel Europa Sevilla – Alcantara or Puerta de Sevilla Granada – Puerta de Granada Barcelona – Regencia Colon Hotel Thank you for your help. |
Why don't you try hostals - not 'hostels'? Spanish hotels can be big and impersonal. There are some lovely hostals and they're better value.

try www.gtahotels.com and remember to write in "single room".
also, www.solmelia.com www.easyjet.com for hotels. they sometimes have great prices, as do www.ryanair.com www.rumbo.es will pull up more local places, too. |
http://www.sevilla5.com/ for Sevilla
I booked thru this site, stayed at Hostel Atenas, basic, great location, easy walk to downtown - Hostels/hostales can be very OK for cheap money. Used this site too http://www.andalucia.com/ |
We are in the same process as you, and for about the same time period. The following are what we have found so far:
Madrid - Very good comments for Hotel Europa and we seriously considered it. We have reserved at Hotel Preciados. They have promised a non-smoking room. Sevilla - Reserved at Hotel Amadeus. This was an easy one. The place sounds charming. It is a small hotel which appeals to us. Granada - Very hard to understand the layout of the city. We reserved at Hotel Carmen de la Alcubilla del Caracol. The Carmen is another small hotel. Our fingers are crossed regarding the location. Have a great trip. |
