Help with hotel in Perugia

Hi everyone! I have been looking on the internet for days and can not find a hotel for my family in the Perugia, Assisi, Spello area. It is for me and my husband and 2 children ages 11 and 14. I am not having luck with a room that will take the four of us. If anyone has any recomendations I would be VERY grateful. A farmhouse would be good too, doesn't need to be fancy just some place to sleep. I could do 2 rooms if I could find some place not more than 70.00 a night. I am finding that the hotels in Italy are much more expensive than other parts of Europe I have traveled but I guess that would be a whole other topic. Thanks!!!!

Debby, if you want to go cheaply, how about a hostel? You could probably get a family room.

Hi debbeymer

Check out this place in Perugia: Alla Residenza Domus Minervae

www.domusminervae.it

It has b&b rooms, with or w/o bath, and also apts. They have rooms for three, so maybe for four, too -- they seemed flexible. It is in an old residence on a quiet street; not the fanciest place (kind of funky, actually) but when we stayed there in 2002, the staff was very friendly and the breakfast was great. Definitely family-friendly!

It seems to cater to people who are in Perugia for language courses -- however, our group of four found it a convenient place to meet up with each other for one night on our way to Tuscany. There is nearby parking and it is near the escalator to the upper city (Perugia is laid out uniquely!) and the fabulous piazza. We really enjoyed our short time in Perugia; it is an easy drive to Assisi, by the way.

In 2002 we paid about US$ 60.00 for double w/bath and breakfast. If you get on the website, you should be able to get a quote for your dates.
