Help with flights from Calgary (or Great Falls) to Paris
We are a family of four (all adults) travelling to Paris July 22 (or 21) to August 2nd (or 1st). I know! Peak season! We have no choice, my son is in a sporting event.
Anyway, we can travel from either Calgary, Alberta or Great Falls, Montana. Originally I thought Great Falls might be cheaper, but with the falling Canadian dollar, the fares are inching up.
The fares on Air Canada from Calgary are around $1600. eek!
Jetsgo is having a sale on flights to Toronto. For the four of us, on July 21 it comes to $1541.72. We would have to stay overnight in Toronto, and then if we went on Zoom the 22nd, it would be $3553.76 (for four). This works out to $1273.87 per person. On return we could either catch a late flight on August 2, or stay overnight in Toronto again, and fly home on Aug. 3rd. I would rather come home on the 2nd, but I understand there is some risk involved with that.
I am nervous about gambling and waiting for a seat sale. Do you think the fares from Great Falls will come down at all? Also, they route you all over the place, so the flights are long.
Any help would be appreciated.

AirTransat has fares of about US$652 (C$810) from Montreal on the dates you want. Find yourself a cheap ticket on Jetsgo or others to YUL, and that should be cheaper than what you're seeing.
Also, please specify that you're talking about Canadian dollars, and please only give price per person, not for all 4.

Sorry, Yes I should have specified that the prices are in Canadian dollars.
The reason I put the costs for four people is because Jetsgo has Companion fares, so the more people, the cheaper it is.
Where can you get the Air Transat fares? Their website does not seem to go past mid-June? $810 from Montreal is a good price. Does that include taxes, etc?
Thanks for your help.

I found the US$652 fare on itasoftware.com, and that's including taxes/fees. You will need to find a travel agent to book it. I don't see that fare on travelocity.ca, or expedia, so you may have to search harder where this can be bought.

Another option - check http://www.canadianaffair.com to London.
Then consider an overnight in or near London (I recommend using Priceline), and then take BMI or EasyJet to Paris.
You could also do this with Air Transat or Zoom to London, depending on the dates and prices.
You can get good Air Transat fares (and other charter airlines) at http://www.selloffairfares.com . But try other resources too - like http://www.itravel2000.com .
Phone TravelCuts to see if they have anything that will get you there cheaper, as well.
