Help with Collioure hotels??

Hi,

We're going to Collioure in September and need help with hotels.

The much recommended Casa Pairal is booked!!!

So, here's what we can pick from:

1. Relais de trois mas;
2. Madeloc;
3. Le Bon Port; and
4. La Fregate.

We are tempted just to stay in the Relais de trois mas because we tend to be a little picky with hotels. However, we don't know if staying there justifies the extra expense.

Does anyone have any advice on any of the above hotels?

Thanks so much!

Larry J is a "regular" in Collioure; hope he'll see this and reply!

Good luck!

I spend 5 days every summer at Le Bon Port. Good price, great seaview, 2 minute walk to a beach and the manager Sheona is a doll and so is Marie the maid. If you stay there tell her Larry Myers from Ohio said hi. (I need the discount)

Larry: How does Le bon Port compare with Casa Pairal? We have reservations at the latter in a few weeks and have read some negative reviews recently. Many thanks.

Sha,

I have never stayed at Casa Pairal but I have been in the lobby , on the grounds etc and it looks very nice. I've talked to many people who like it very much and I have never heard any complaints about it. It is very conveniently located only a few minutes walk to the harbor and beaches while Le Bon Port is up the hill above town and maybe a 10-15 minute walk to the center of town, marina and main beaches. Le Bon Port has a really nice view due to its hilltop location. I don't mind the walk to Le Bon Port as I hike alot but if you have trouble with longish walks you might not like it. You can walk all but the last 150 meters along the water then it is a steep climb up many steps or a longer walk up the hilly Port Vendre road. Sorry but that's the best I can do for you.

Enjoy Collioure; it is a super beautiful little town and the Catalan people are very nice.

Larry J- thanks for the reassurance. We're really excited about this trip and you've made us feel better about our choice of hotels.
