Help with Budapest Accommodation please!

We are planning a short 2 night stay in Budapest next weekend and don't want to spend TOO much on a nice hotel or apartment, but we would like to be as central on the Pest side as possible. I've researched apartments and they seem fairly inexpensive, but I've also come across where the site will show you one apartment online and then upon arrival the owner or property manager will move you to a smaller and less appealing apartment. Does anyone have any experience in this department. I know it's a little late in the game to get a GREAT deal on a hotel, but if any of you know of one we would really appreciate it. Thanks!

How about a B&B?

We just stayed at the Starlight Suiten hotel that's right behind the Four Seasons near the Chain Bridge. It's a great location at a fair price.

Well the B&B mentioned is definitely in our price range, but seems to be a little far out. We wanted to stay on the Pest side, but I guess a little walking never hurt anybody. The Starlight looks wonderful and is in a better location, but is out of our price range. Thank you so much for the suggestions. Any others out there???

hi, girls,

you don't actually say what your budget is!

however, we stayed at the Hotel Pest, just off the main street opposite the opera. it was fine and very central.

they are showing 94e per night per room including taxes and b'fast.

regards, ann

Have you tried Priceline? We paid $65/night at the art'Otel last summer. It is on the Buda side, but it was very nice and I thought it was quite conveniently located.

This was conveniently located in Pest. We came from the train station, followed their directions using the Metro, and even with all our luggage, had no problem. We didn't need a car for our stay.

We stayed in Flat #1, with the owners. The two rented rooms share a bathroom but it was no problem. They have other private flats but I don't know how conveniently located they are.

We only paid around 45E per night. And Maria and Istvan are very friendly, helpful and respect your privacy.

Ditto to Kellye's Priceline suggestion. We're paying $62.00 per night at the Art'Otel right after Christmas.
