Help with Brussels hotel

I tried to book Hotel Welcome for 1 night in May, but it is already full. Any suggestions? I am trying to keep my budget around $100-$120.

I stayed at Hotel Lalegende. It's decent.

On r. Lombard.

There're some standard recs that come up there -- Atlas, for example. And a few others?

Well, guess what I found?

Hotel Le Dixseptieme (ranked #1 on tripadivor)
http://www.ledixseptieme.be/main.html
has a weekend promotion - 50% off room prices. I called the hotel and confirmed the promotion - I can get a single room for 90 euros (breakfast not included). Seems like an excellent deal.

Wow.

I remember reading about that hotel. Isn't this a luxury hotel?

Sounds like you did really well!

No, I haven't booked it yet. I should though, before the discount rooms run out.

It's right by Grand Place - really excellent location.

Most of the standard hotels that're recommended are by Grand'Place.

As a follow up:

I ended up booking a single room at Le Dixseptieme for 90 euros. The regular rate is 180E, but I qualify for their weekend 50% off promotion.

The other option I had was Royal Windsor Hotel (which could be booked via laterooms.com for 99E).

I was a little annoyed with Le Dixseptieme's reservation system though. They don't take reservations over the phone, just email or fax.

I initally called and asked about the promotion, and I was told that the standard room is available for my date.

I then emailed the hotel (30 minutes after the phone call), and the reply email told me that NO rooms were availabe for the 90E price.

The following day, I called again, and I was told again that the 90E room IS available.

I emailed the hotel a 2nd time, telling them that I was told the room IS available, and this time they confirmed it.

My 3rd email was my CC# info, and I asked the hotel to email me back for a confirmation. Did not hear back from the hotel.

My 4th email was requesting a confirmatory email from them that they received my reservation and CC#. Again, no answer.

I called the hotel the following day, and was told on the phone that they have received my reservation and CC# info.

I am looking forward to staying there.
