Flights between Rome and Sicily on Meridiana Airlines

I have been checking the Meridiana airlines website for months now and cannot find a direct flight from FCO to Palermo with a return from Catania to FCO in October. We got a great price last year from Meridiana last year through expedia but they no longer seem to carry lower priced airlines. I have also checked the Volare site and Volare does not fly from Catania to FCO on October 30th. I know that Lufthansa flies between the 2 cities but I'd prefer to get a less expensive round trip. Any ideas?
Thanks so much! Lisa

We just returned from a trip to Sicily and flew AirOne from Rome FCO to Palermo and returned from Catania. We just missed a special sale price and ended up paying about $145 round trip apiece. I booked the flights separately, two one-way trips, on their website several months before the trip. Out tickets to Palermo were waiting for us at the airport in Rome and were not charged to our credit card until that day. In Catania, for the return flight, they did not have the tickets and we had to buy them there. I'm not sure if they had the reservation or not. Fortunately we had enough time to do that and still make our morning flight.

Thanks to all of you for the information! I guess that Meridiana must have ceased a number of their internal flights. I'll try out all of the websites!
Grazie! Lisa
