help with Bath lodging
I'm getting desperate for a room in Bath, Oct. 5-9. It needs to be close to sights as husband has injured foot and can't walk much. I called a bunch that claim closeness to city centre, but they are full. I'm looking at Pratts Hotel, 4-8 South Parade, as it has rooms available and is not too expensive. Is it close to the Abbey? Did you know, BTW, that all B&Bs are an easy 10-minute walk from the city center of wherever you are? ;-)

South Parade is about as close to the Abbey/Pump Room/Roman Baths as you can get. It isn't more than 200 yards from all three. Plus the hop-on-hop-off bus stop is practically at the corner of South Parade and Manvers St.

Not sure they'll have a room for you but check out the Kennard Hotel on Henrietta Street.
www.Kennard.co.uk We stayed there a few years ago and really like the location...I don't remember the hotel having an elevator if that a problem for you but it was about a 5 minute walk to the center of Bath. Good Luck and enjoy the lovely city of Bath. |
I can't recommend a hotel, but did want to mention that there is a Hop on, Hop off bus in Bath. I see someone beat me to it, but it could be great for you.

I was ready to book at Pratt's and then read TripAdviser first. Yikes. The reviews are pretty uniformly and strongly negative. I know I looked at the Kennard. I think they were full. I'll keep trying or maybe we'll just skip Bath and settle in Cornwall for a bit longer than planned.

After another half dozen or so calls, I found a spot at Apple Tree Guest House. It says five minutes level walk to city center, and looks good. I am that desperate that I didn't even bother looking at reviews!
