Hello Helenannwerner,

Heaton's guest house in Dingle is immaculate, the breakfasts are great and the owners are a delight!

About 1/3 of a mile out of downtown.

We loved Sallyport House in Kenmare. Unbeatable location, very nice and helpful owners and a lovely interior!

Recently stayed at OceanView B&B in Dingle and Laburnum House in Kenmare and would recommend both. Both less than 5 minute walk from town centers.

To: Isabel. I was glad to see the Ocean View recommendation. I will be staying there for two nights this month. I've been emailing back and forth with Phyl who seems very nice. Did you have a room in the back of the house, the ones with the view of the bay? How were the breakfasts? Is there off-street parking? I would appreciate any assistance. Thanks,KJS

In Dingle, I also recommend Heaton's (best breakfasts I had) and the owners are very pleasant.

Keenan, yes we had a room in the back with great view of the bay. The breakfast was just about the best of our trip - Phyl even makes her own Muslix (cereal) and cuts up all the fruit for the fruit salad. She's a fantastic cook. They are across the street from the craft center and there is plenty of free parking there. They're only a five minute walk from the center of town. I considered it one of our favorite stays (and it was one of the least expensive too!). It wasn't "luxurious" but it's a lot nicer than the photos on the web site make it look. You'll have a great time.

Isabel, Thanks so much for the details. I think that I will be quite happy there and I have confirmed that I have a room facing the bay. Good luck to all as I leave out tomorrow. K

Hi Helen,

I can recommend Virginia's Guesthouse in Kenmare Town. Their rooms are fabulous - newly renovated with power showers! Breakfast was the best we had on our trip. Of all the places we stayed, this was definitely the best value for money and the most memorable pancakes I've ever had (melted blue cheese over pears with bacon was another dreamy breakfast dish!!) Contact [email protected]. Tell them Katy sent you.

Have a fun time in Dingle & Kenmare
Katy

We stayed at Shelburne Lodge in Kenmare and loved it. Lovely decor, great brakfasts, nice hosts. Easy (5minute) walk to town. Would recommend it highly.

We just returned from 10 days in Ireland...2 nights in Dingle. We all loved the Greenmount House. The location is perfect. This feels like an elegant Inn at a very reasonable price, incl tax and great breakfast. We paid for an upgrade to get a room with a view and were thrilled with it..

Do these B&B's you mention in Kenmare have private baths?

We just returned today from Ireland. Spent 2 nights at Virginia's in Kenmare and it was wonderful. The hosts are great, helpful people, the rooms are wonderful - newly re-done and top quality and the breakfasts are great. Perfect location in town and easy walk to water and some sights. Highly recommend. I think it was about 35 or 40 euros per person.

Here is another vote for Heatons' Guest House in Dingle. We stayed there from 9/9 to 9/12.It is a beautiful place right on the bay. Cameron and Nuala are perfect hosts. Try the porridge with Drambuie for a jump start in the morning.

Was just in Kenmare & Dingle in August and liked where I stayed in both. In Kenmare, Davitt's Guesthouse -- perfect location in the center of town, very quiet, nice restaurant/pub downstairs, free parking behind the building. Mary runs the place and she's delightful. My spacious and spotless single with private bath was 40 Euro including full breakfast. http://www.davitts-kenmare.com/
In Dingle, The Captain's House B&B, run by another Mary. The location couldn't be better. My tiny but comfortable single was 55 Euro including the best breakfast I had in Ireland.

Isabel, the Ocean View was very, very good. Your review is very accurate and I can't imagine finding another place similar matching their low rates. To those interested, remember that the bathrooms are shared but kept very clean. Use the shower downstairs, if you want good water pressure. This is not luxury, although very nice. Enjoy Ireland
