Thanks Diane/Meridith; I don't have the book this year but I am aware of it. It seems to Rome, the most popular are Air France via Paris, Iberia via Madrid, and Alitalia; I did fly Northwest to Italy last year however their rout is via Amsterdam and to Florence rather than to Rome (where I need to connect to Catania, Sicily)....I'll keep looking! I have a feeling it's July that is causing these rediculous thousand dollar rates per person...look at how many people have quoted great prices on this message board alone, but none in July.
