Help with 6 days in Switzerland

I am travelling with my wife, and 2 adult friends into Zurich on 5th July from London. We plan to rent a car and then drive to Reichenbach in the Oberland Region close to Interlaken. Going to stay there in an apartment for 3 days.
Plan to spend Monday going through the Jungfrau region, take the train up, see Wengen and lauterbrunnen
Tuesday we plan on going back to Grindelwald and doing a little bit of hiking. I am 65 years so do not plan on any strenous hikes. Night maybe see interlaken
Wednesday my wife and I leave for Lucerne, my friends go their own way to Geneva. I might stop on way to see Mt. Titlis.
Can I do the goldenoverpass drive from Lauterbrunnen to Lucerne? I read somewhere that the road runs parallel to the train tracks and it is breathtaking
If I do Jungfrau train up the mountain, does it make sense to do Mt.Pilatus.
I plan on spending Wednesday and Thursday in Lucerne and driving to Zurich on Friday.
Should I stay Friday in Lucerne and go to Zurich airport direct on Saturday or it is worth spending a day in Zurich

I suppose you know that it would be extremely easy to reach Reichenbach im Kandertal by train. Departures from Zurich airport every 30 min; change at either Berne (if you leave ZRH at ...13) or Spiez (if you leave ZRH at ...40).

Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald can easily be reached by car (by train too) from Reichenbach. For Wengen and Wengernalp, you need to change to the train (fare 14 CHF resp. 46 CHF RT).

Don't forget to visit the gems around Reichenbach:
Mount Niesen (funicular railway),
Lake Oeschinen (chairlift from Kandersteg,)
Sunnbuehl (gondola from Kandersteg),
Hahnenmoos/Metsch (gondola from Adelboden),
Griesalp (may be by PostBus): http://www.postauto.ch/en/pag-starts...bot-detail.htm

The drive from Reichenbach via Bruenig Pass to Lucerne (Goldenpass itinerary) is very easy. It goes along Lake Brienz (historic cog wheel steam train from Brienz to Brienzer Rothorn), Ballenberg (Swiss Village Museum), Bruenig (road from there to Hasliberg Reuti from where you can reach the famous viewpoint Alpentower by gondola, panorama similar to that of Titlis), Lake Lungern, Lake Sarnen and Lake Lucerne.

Jungfraujoch: if you want to go there (and may use some other mountain railways, lifts or boats), you might be interested in a railpass. In this case, it wouldn't make much sense to rent a car, as almost everything would be covered by the railpass.

Jungfrau railway: Lauterbrunnen - Jungfraujoch and back
standard fare: 184 CHF
with Swiss Travel Pass: 133 CHF
with Bernese Oberland Pass: 62 CHF

Price of Swiss Travel Pass: 363 CHF
Price of Bernese Oberland Pass: 330 CHF
Zurich airport - Lucerne and back (not covered by Bernese Oberland Pass): 58 CHF

Thanks Neckervd, Car is because apartment in Reichenbach is a distance and we are going to take a land tour of Italy from Venice so we do have luggage which we dont want to carry around. I can drive to Grindelwald, lauterbrunnen and Interlaken. I assume there will be public parking at both these locations.
What do you suggest I see in Lucerne, I plan on skipping overnight stay in Zurich,to get an extra night in Lucerne, this way I get 3 nights in Lucerne. Any hotel or B&B recommendations for Lucerne.
Thanks
Dilip

Since two of your 3 days in Interlaken will be spent in the mountains, it might be preferable to stay in Lauterbrunnen, Wengen, or Murren. It's best to get a very early start on the day you trek to the Jungfraujoch because clouds roll in usually by early afternoon. Staying in Wengen or Lauterbrunnen makes this possible, whereas it's harder with Interlaken as your base. Plus, it is unbelievable wonderful staying high in the alps in a traffic-free town.

In Luzern I've stayed in the Hotel de Alps (city center, pricy but nice) and the Bed and Breakfast Lucerne (very homey, not as central but close to a tram stop). I'd stay at either again.

My favorite sites or activities in Luzern are the ferry rides connecting the lakeside towns, trips up to Rigi or Pilatus, and just tooling around this cute town. I also really liked the collection of Picassos at the Rosengart museum.
