Glad to hear that, cheryl. It's a great deal. $600 is quite enough for 8.5 days of eating and getting around.
Let us know the exact location of your Paris hotel and we'll tell you which is the best option for transport. It all depends on the subway station near your hotel and how near it is. I myself always take trains (RER B) from the airport because it's cheap and faster, but, let us know.
For getting around inside Paris, you can buy a Navigo card for the week (it costs only 22 Euros for a whole week, zone 1-5, unlimited subway/RER/bus/tram, included Versailles if you take RER C to it. Isn't that great? ). For a single day which doesn't fall into the week, you can buy a Mobilis ticket for zone 1-2 for only 7 Euros/day. Please note it down, you'll save a lot on transportation cost. Also, you can possibly walk the whole Paris, it's not very large but it's riddled with pretty sights.
Paris and Rome, tsk tsk, you can't get better than that
