Help! Where is the best place to get inexpensive tickets to France?
I am looking to leave in a few weeks and the typical online travel sites are telling me it will be $1400. Does anyone have any ideas of where I could look?

You might also try the following in addition to the ITA site:
www.mobissimo.com
www.farechase.com
the Consolidator...
www.onetravel.com
The problem you may encounter could be the fact that you've waited until a few weeks prior to travel to buy a ticket. The cost of the ticket probably depends, to some extent, on the route, i.e., the city you are leaving from (assuming you are flying into Paris).
Have you considered an alternative such as London or Amsterdam and ground transport from there to France?

Another thought may be bidding on Priceline. Check out the tutorial for how to do this at www.biddingfortravel.com. Study at that site until you know exactly how to bid. The moderators at the site will even help you with your bid, but you have to do your homework first.
