Help! What to pack for Paris, London, Barcelona in June??

I'm leaving for Paris end-May so I understand weather is still cool. I was thinking of bringing my boots. Will it be warm for boots? I'm going to London and Barcelona after (trip ends 2nd week of June) and the temperatures might greatly differ. I'm just bringing a 22" carryon and I want to pack as lightly as possible. What clothes, shoes should I bring? Planning to watch a few shows so also want to be dressed well some nights. I think Barcelona will be quite warm, Paris still chilly and London- unpredictable. HELP!

I think you answe4red your own question in your final statement and I would suggest you pack accordingly. Have a great trip.

As singletail so eloquently put it "you answ4red your own question".

Will it be too warm for boots? What style boots - a spring weight ankle boot or fur lined ones? You may suffer from poor circulation so feel the cold. Pack what you want to pack and think is appropriate, have some self-confidence please, get a life coach!

I can't imagine traveling with boots except in the depths of winter. And Paris is almost always warmer than London - whoever said it was cooler?

However, perhaps you do have some medical condiiton that requires you be super warm at all times - in that case you will probably need a winter coat etc. (just be aware that everyone else wil be wearing spring/summer clothes).

If there's no snow on the ground, then wearing boots is a fashion statement, not a climate-related one. Since they're bulky and irrelevant, leave them home.

Take 2 pairs of black slacks and several tops that can be layered, including something dressy (perhaps a glittery scarf).

If you really want to make your packing easy, take lots of Diane von Fursternberg wraparound dresses - very light, very easy to pack, and can be dressed up or down depending up on accessories.

We were in Paris last year from May 27 thru June 3. The weather was extremely warm for most of the time we were there. The Parisians were wearing shorts on the weekend. You would have been both uncomfortable and a little silly in boots. I would avoid taking them. London and Paris probably will both be mild at the end of May. Take lightweight knits and layers.

Check weather.com for each city a day or two before your departure and then pack accordingly. I froze in Paris a few summers ago (mid July) when there was a cold spell. Our high temps that summer were 48 one day in Amsterdam, 60's in Paris and in London with a 74.

60's in Paris in the summer is very cool - but still hardly boot weather - a light jacket would seem to be planty.

Thanks for your replies.

m-kingdom: It's not a matter of lack of self confidence but rather the desire to get info from fellow travellers. I'm quite confident when it comes to my fashion choices, my only question was what kind of clothing to bring given that I will be going to 3 different countries that may have varying climates, considering I want to bring only a 22"! But thanks anyway for suggesting DVF--may bring one or 2 wraparound dresses.

Hi - I'll be going to Paris and Barcelona a bit later in June and am also a bit perplexed about what to bring! I live in San Francisco which is always on the chilly side even in the summer. I'm figuring that Paris will be in the high 70's and that Barcelona will be hot -shorts and short sleeves. I'm bringing a sweater just in case. I'm a big fan of polyester - doesn't wrinkle and multi temp. I'm bringing capri pants, 2-3 polyester flouncy spring skirts and a few dresses. I figure if I need it I'll have a great excuse to buy it;}

You can pack 12-15 various pieces to then wear layered (or not) in a 22" suitcase. I find knits work best. Skip the boots, too bulky. Wear your heaviest pieces layered on the plane including a blazer or cardigan or jacket (you can bring several extra things this way without crowding your suitcase!)

I stand by my previously stated position that people who ask these type of questions are not ready for international travel.

this thread on clothing might help you, not with temperatures but with clothing ideas
