We had rain, hail and what felt like tropical storm force winds in Ireland in March last year. I feel your pain, however, at some point you just have to say to yourself "I'm in Ireland" -get out and walk and do whatever you had planned to do. How often are you going to be in Ireland?

I second the pub recommendation.

Hmmn, wonder where the notion that Ireland is particularly rainy came from? I've just checked the stats and NYC (from which I understand a lot of Fodorites come) is much wetter than Dublin - about 50 per cent wetter. (And where I live is much wetter than NYC - by about 40 per cent).

Cheer up kate1, I think I'll join you in Ireland to dry off.... :)
