Help w/ Rome Accomodations!
Hi All,
Me again! I am in desperate need of help/ suggestions for affordable hotels in Rome. This is the thing...thus far in my travels I have been trying to keep my hotel/ hostel fares to $80- $120 USD per night...and I would really, really like to keep this trip somewhere close to this range- BUT- I have been traveling with my boyfriend and the weekend we are in Rome (23-25) will be his birthday weekend so I feel like I need to find somewhere affordable but a little more upscale/ romantic/ cute (you know!!) than the typical hostels we bunk in..haha! Anyhow-- there lies my problem! If it was someplace awesome I would be willing to stray a little from my $120 per night, max.... HELP PLEASE!!! :) |
It might be a little late to book a convent, but you could try (if you would feel comfortable with that).
I saw some specials from booking.com in my email today, but I did not investigate. You might take a look there. Also here: venere.com ratestogo.com laterooms.com lastminute.com The very best-value places are likely booked up, but given the season, you may be lucky. |
Have you thought of renting an appartment?
We were in Rome during the last week of September and rented an appartment via angelishouse and we were happy with it. The cost came to 110E/day. This one may be good for you as it is in Campo. http://www.angelishouse.it/accommoda...ls-in-rome.htm My two cents |
I'm not sure if it suits your budget but we loved the Hotel San Francesco in Trastavere.
|
Oops sorry. I thought you were looking for something around 120Euros max....
|
Hi ,around the corner from Hotel San Francesco in the Trastevere the b&b Arco del Lauro, which in essence is some kind of a tiny hotel is very nice. Have a look in tripadvisor.com. Good luck. We enjoyed the stay there very much as I am sure the San Francisco is very nice too. So it seemed to us each time we walked by its door.

Hi 2mths,
I just inquired on availbility for some friends who are going to be in Rome that same week. The hotel where I stayed, Hotel Giardino Rome, had availability and will be in your price range. Great location and super helpful owner and staff. Check them out. Buon viaggio! |
Wow-- ya know I never even thought about renting an apartment, but it seems like that may be the smartest decision based on the hotel costs I am finding. Thanks for this info....definitely something to mull over
And Dayle thanks for the recommendation of Hotel Giardino-- this place does look great and I have been in contact. I want to get something booked this week and this are the two most promising leads after hours of pouring over the other suggested sites :) If anyone one else has any others they love please still pass them along- nothing is final yet! THANKS AGAIN TO ALL!! |
have you looked at residenza san pantaleo....prices range from 85-120 euros depending on season. we were there in june and loved it!
|
Go for an apartment! You will love having the extra space, and eating in occasionally (or if only for breakfast)will save you a bundle. We have stopped booking hotels for anyplace we plan to stay more the two or three nights - so much nicer to be in a "real" place.
|
I have actually looked into Residenza san pantaleo, one of the other bloggers suggested this one. I will know tomorrow whether either this place, the apartment place or my third [preferred] option- Hotel Giardino have availability (which Dayle says yes :)
I will keep you posted on which I end up with and how I make out! |
Has anyone stayed at Hotel Abruzzi or Roman Rooms B&B in Rome??
