Help! Trying to Contact Shop Keeper on Santorini

My husband and I met a very nice man named Michael Magirias who ran a shop called Artworks selling handcarved frames in the pretty town of Oia on Santorini. We discussed having a custom frame made for us and planned to follow up with him before we left the island. A pending airline strike forced us to leave before we could complete our transaction. We did follow-up and call him to confirm that we were still interested in working with him and told him would iron out the details when were were back in the US. When we call his shop, there is no answer and I imagine that we waited too long and it is now closed for the season.

Does anyone know how we can reach him during the off season?

I was just on Santorini and spoke with a few shop owners. Most don't live on the island during the off season. They go the mainland and come back the next spring to open shop.

Sorry I can't be of further assistance.

Thanks so much for your prompt reply. I know this is a long shot but it seems there is always someone with an answer for almost any question or a solution for any problem on this blog.

Mary, Here's what I would do. Go to Virtual Tourist and do a search on Santorini (destinations). You will see that there are several VT members who live there who participate on VT regularly. If you email them (you can email members of VT directly), in my experience they are always more than helpful. Good luck!

Try sending an email to some of the better hotels in Oia, they might be of help.

Perivolas Villas
Katikies
Esperas
