Charles de gaulle Airport to Gare austerlitz
I tried without success to find the best/most economical way to get to the station at Austerlitz from CDG Roissy. There is no direct train OR airport shuttle bus. Having now done the trip A taxi cost 55 euro one way, the best alternative seems to be the airport shuttle bus to Gare Lyon at 16.5 euro single 27 euro return . The Gare Austerliz is only a 5 minute walk across the river from Gare Lyon. Staff at both ends very helpful with luggage.

I've used both RER and Air France bus to get to central Paris. as you have ntoed, the Air france bus takes you to Gare de Lyon.
If you take the RER to gar du Nord, then transfer to Metro and go to Gare D'Austerlitz.

ah why not them take the RER from the airport to Gare de Lyon and walk across the Pont Charles De Gaulle right to Austerlitz? this is what I always do. and there is a diect metro line from Gare du Nord to Austerlitz.

Or you can take the RER B from CDG to St-Michel Notre-Dame and change directly to RER C for Gare Austerlitz. I guess that interchanging between RER lines may be easier than interchanging between RER and Metro lines but I could be wrong.
