Help to pronounce a name

Hello, The name Aiofe is a character in a novel that I am reading and I can't for the life of me work out how it should be pronounced - hoping someone can help.

It's female and pronunced Eefa or eefah
Gaelic meaning Eve.

Well, let's see how the internet does compared to someone with some actual experience. I found one source suggesting that Aiofe is an old version of the more modern (Irish) name Aife.

And http://www.geocities.com/paris/arc/6084/pron.htm lists "Ee-fa" as a rough pronunciation guide for Aife.

Best wishes,

Rex

It's normally spelt Aoife and machin has the pronunciation right - eefa.

Hey - thanks everyone I don't feel like such a dill now. I came up with some curious pronunciation of Ay-off which doesn't sound too good at all. The book did have "Eve" in brackets so I knew the modern version. And Cailin is correct with the spelling - that was my typo.
