Help! Sicily or Sardinia with 2 + 4 yr olds in mid-october?

Please guide me!! Where should we go, what should we do?
We'll be flying into Italy from London on October 16th for 6-7 nights.
Nothing has been booked except that we are off of work. yay!!
We love the beach and will just have to pray for good weather.
We love culture and music and food.
I know it will be tough with the kids, but maybe we can hire a local nanny for the week.
Help!!!!

The places in Sardinia that would be suitable for your family will be mainly shut down in October. Rather than go all the way to Sicily, you might find a lot to suit your needs in Sorrento or Meta di Sorrento.

I ouldn't go to either Sicily or Sardinia for the beaches in October. Not sure about Sardinia but the beaches are definitely not the reason to go to Sicily and it probably will be too cold for beaches in any case.

You will find culture and good food galore in Sicily and it is a wonderful place to visit for that.

I would suggest to explore the Southern Coast, especially if you fly into Cagliari: there you'll find nature, some of the best archaeological sites like Nora, good food and great beaches

I'd definitely recommend the Blue Sardinia Holidays apartment, http://www.bluesardiniaholidays.com , very nice, fully equipped. A great solution for families and small groups of friends!
