Help! Seville is getting booked up already!
 

This is the third time I have planned this trip to Spain but problems got in the way and we try, try again. All the hotels that I booked before and looked at in interest.
Alminar is booked, Musica is booked. We are travelling Sept. 24th and would like a very nice room. Is the Westin worth the money and would you stay in one of the basic rooms?
Any comments about Casa no. 7??? I know some hotels pop up and they do not get on websites for years until they build up a good reputation so if anyone knows of a nice hotel 200Eur and up?

What about Amadeus? We liked it a lot.

Seville would be the 18th largest city in the US, so it's not a small town. There should be plenty of good hotels. Go to trip advisor and start searching.

We had the same problem and finally booked in Carmona, at Alcazar de la Reina (since Carmona's Parador was also fully booked). It was a hint of fate.

We found Carmona MUCH more charming than Sevilla and we loved the Alcazar. It is a short drive from Carmona into Sevilla, and Carmona is also a good base to drive to Cordoba (which we also prefered over Sevilla).

Musica de Sevilla and Amadeus have same ownership and are sister hotels. What about Casa del Maestro? And they also have suites del maestro which look great.

Casa del Laurel has pretty good reviews too. Then there's Casa de la Juderia where some friends stayed and they likes it very much, although it is said to be quirky.

Musica and Amadeus are booked except for some small rooms facing the street. I have sent a request to Casa de la Juderia so will see what they have. I should have been more specific that I wanted to be close to the cathedral within walking distance. I will find something for sure but was just wondering if something new had opened up that is not on tripadvisor, fodors, or frommers, etc.

Here are 16 hotels for 200€ and up pr. night in the week following the 24th of September. Most of them are close to the cathedral. I guess Alfonso XIII is as good as it gets, but you would have plenty to choose from in this price range:

Sorry, kimhe ... but I have the feeling that it is more probably the U2 concert than the Bienal. It happened to me two years ago at the end of October, I didn´t realize it was the last concert of Heroes del Silencio, and Sevilla was packed !

Anyway, I did manage to get a room at the Casas de la Juderia. More expensive than I had expected, but really lovely. I liked it a lot.

He-he, you're probably right. The Bienal nevertheless draws some 50 000 spectators.

we have an apartment booked in Seville during the Bienal and would very much like to get a "taste" of a good flamenco performance. How do we decide which performance to attend?

I am sorry to say I have not studied the programme yet, I won't be going (whaaaa!)but just a quick perusal for you

What you have to choose (if you can get tix) will range from cutting edge modern flamenco dance (Andres Marin & Israel Galvan & sister Pastora) to more traditional stuff ( La Moneta , Concha Jareño, Rafaela Carrasco) to superstar dancer companies of Eva Yerbabuena and Rocio Molina and Maria Pages which will have a little of everything.

I can tell you anything presented at the bienal is of the highest caliber, it just depends on your interests.


Some feature singers ( Poveda will surely already be sold out he is really a huge figure in today's flamenco as a singer and I personally also love Arcangel...another cantaor (singer)

Guitarists include the famous Tomatito and the ICONIC Paco de Lucia, possibly the most well know guitarists althiough there are many these two are recognized all over the world for over 20 years.

If you want to see a bit check out you tube ...although these programmes are usually premiere performances especially for the bienal.

Amsdon, my bad! I apologize also! I just saw this thread and got very excited that someone was talking about flamenco. We like to use apartments which are very reasonable. Would that be an alternative Kakibell? I can recommend companies that we used for Spain.
