Help Please with Amsterdam to Venice Flights
Hello Fodorites. I am hoping you can assist me with my itinerary. I have purchased tickets flying into Amsterdam and out of Venice this fall. I thought I would be able to find an inexpensive one-way flight, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Or am I missing something?
I've searched through some of the posts on this site and it seems that it might be feasible to purchase a roundtrip and only use the outbound portion. Is that still the case? Alternatively, are there any low-cost airlines that fly directly between these two cities that might offer a one-way flight? Thank you for any assistance you can offer. |
whichbudget.com shows one airline flying between Amsterdam and Venice Treviso -- Transavia.

Thank you, beanweb24. I took a look at the Transavia website and it certainly seems to be an excellent option. Do you have any personal experience with Transavia, or does anyone else on this site? Would you recommend them as being reliable? Is there any problem flying into Treviso rather than Marco Polo that I should be aware of?

I took Transavia between Madrid and Amsterdam, and it was fine. Transavia is a budget offshoot of KLM, and not a fly-by-night company (so to speak).
The main issue with Treviso Airport is that you have to catch a coach from Piazzale Roma in Venice that takes about 70 minutes to get to that airport. But this is really not a big deal, in my opinion, although I haven't tried Treviso yet. |
skyscanner.com I want to think we paid like 60 euros.

Thank you for the additional information and website. Unless the KLM flights go on sale in the next couple of days, I will most likely book our tickets on Transavia. I discovered an earlier post which mentioned that there is a shuttle from the Treviso airport to Venice for 5 Euros.

Here's the timetable for the bus service between Treviso airport and Venice:
