Help planning!! 3 days between Kandersteg & Interlaken

Hi. I'm heading to Switzerland from Paris for 3 nights and 4 days. One reason is because me and my daughter want to do the toboggan ride on Oeschinensee and would also like to visit Lauterbrunnen and maybe Kleine Scheidegg. After we will be heading to Milan. We will be in Switzerland in mid September of this year. This will be our first time there.
Questions:
Should we base ourselves in Kanderteg?
Is it doable to visit this areas in the time frame mentioned above?
Do you recommend 2 nights in Kandersteg and 1 night in Lauterbrunnen, Wengen or Intrlaken? Or 3 nights in Kanderteg with a one day trip to Interlaken and Klein Scheidegg?
What type of clothing should we bring? We are from Hawaii :)

Thanks

3 nights and 4 days in Switzerland?
Day 1: if you leave paris by TGV in the morning, you will arrive at Interlaken etc. in early afternoon
Day 4: the last train to Milan leaves Interlaken at 18.30.
So you will have just 3 days.

It doesn't really matter where you stay, as all places you mentioned are in the same area (max 2 hrs by train, trains every 30 to 60 min until midnight). If you plan to stay longer in the Jungfrau area (Interlaken-Lauterbrunnen-Wengen- Grindelwald) I would stay rather there than at Kandersteg.

I stayed in Kandersteg for 2 wks a few years ago. Apart from Oeschinensee, I did daytrips. That said, Kandersteg is not as well connected (frequency of train-wise) as Interlaken. BUT, we hiked the far-lesser known area of Loetschental, which was wonderful getting to know this secluded gem!

Mokka: I'm happy to learn that you enjoyed Loetschental. Usually, foreign tourists don't like uncrowded hiking trails or unspoilt mountain valleys.

Even more remote: Gasterntal, easily accessible from Kandersteg. I enjoyed Kandersteg as well (and nearby Adelboden.)

Even the most remote part of Gasterntal can be reached by bus 240 from Kandersteg, every hr.
A well signmarked straining hiking trail goes from there to Loetschenpass. There you can choose between 2 itineraries in order to enter Loetschental:
either Loetschenpass - Lauchernalp gondola station - Weritzalp - Lake Schwarzsee - Fafleralp Post bus station - Anen Hut SAC/Long Glacier
or
Loetschenpass - Kummenalp - Faldumalp - Feschelalp - Jeizinen gondola station resp. Erschmatt bus station. From there, you can hike back to Kandersteg via Bachalp - Rinderhuette - gondola - Leukerbad -(gondola) - Gemmi Pass on day 2.
