I've rented from Guest Apartment Services (listed above)--very good. You might also check Haven in Paris to see if they have anything that meets your requirements.
http://www.haveninparis.com/ Good luck! |
I think the Guest Apartments look wonderful. Can you tell me about how long of a walk that it is to the Louve and then on to the shops at St Honore. I will send a request to check availability. Haven in Paris had one that I liked but it was rented, they also have another but the bedroom and living area are separated by courtyard, would be great in summer but not in December/January.

With a generous budget like that, I would look at Paris Perfect apartments.

I tried to get Anemone at the Guest Apartments, I called, it is booked....and as for the Paris Perfect and my generous budget, paying 550 Euros in an area I don't want to be in doesn't work for me. This is my own fault, I should have booked earlier. I was just afraid to take that leap of first time apartment renting. Thanks Leely2 at least I had fun watching the videos of the apartment. Cheers

You could try www.homeaway.com. You can search by arrondisement and by dates.

You might look at http://rentalfrance.com/ .
We're staying at rue Malar (2nd floor) for a week in late October. I noted some holiday availability for rue Malar (3rd floor), Latour Maubourg and Rue de l’Université -- all in an area, we think is the best (opinions do vary :-) ) If you want to see what's around there, take a look at my Google map of Paris: http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UT...,0.153637&z=13 (Zoom in so the icons aren't overlapping.) -- Paul |
Paris Perfect does have a few apartments outside of the 7th.
Here's one in the Latin Quarter (if you don't mind purple decor) http://www.parisperfect.com/apartmen...nt-georges.php And then this one on Ile de la cite: http://www.parisperfect.com/apartmen.../echezeaux.php And on ile st louis http://www.parisperfect.com/apartmen.../minervois.php |
Try this, an apartment I hope to stay in one day!
VRBO #61185 http://www.vrbo.com/61185 I have corresponded with the owner who is delightful. It is close to the Seine and Louvre. Good luck. |
Even though I am a budget traveler, I keep a lot of bookmarks of apartment rental sites - don't know anything about this one at all but they seem to have quite a few in the 1st and 6th:
http://www.panacherental.com/ Another idea is the slowtrav.com site which has many rental reviews listed.... |
Try Parisperfect.com.

I have just rented an apartment for May 2011 from
www.parisvacationapartments.com They have been easy to work with and the apartments they represent seem to be great. You should check their website. |
I am happy to report that we now have an apartment for our holiday. I had sent a request for the apartment and then got antsy and had my friend who is french call for me, they said, I am sorry the apartment is already rented, I was sad. DH comes home, and I show him the video of the apartment and he said, oh wow is this the one we rented and I said no, it is taken...He said, then why did you show this to me:) I then got an email confirming the reservation. It is a sort of delay of course between miles and transactions.....WHEW.....So we are going to be in Anemone on Ile Saint Louis. I know it is about a 30 minute hike to the Louve area, but I am hoping that I can get DH to get familiar with some other pubs, and stores and cafes - and get him to realize it isn't all about the 1st. Thank you for all your help, I would have never done this if it hadn't been for all of you encouraging me to continue looking. It would have been just another hotel room, now we can have coffee, pastries, wine and cheese in our little kitchen.

I love happy endings/beginnings. It looks like a lovely apartment.
The walk may be 30 minutes, but it's a fantastic 30 minutes. So much to see and explore along the way. Do let us know how your trip goes. |
I agree with cw-it will be great stroll. You can go right by one of my favorite hidden monuments in Paris on the ile de la cite behind Notre Dame, which is
The Mémorial de la Déportation (dedicated to the deportations of WWII) Square de l'Ile-de-France 75004 Paris, France 01 46 33 87 56 It sits down by the river and it is very moving. Also, in case you are interested there is a really nice bus line The number 24 that runs from Ile de la cite through the latin quarter by the Orsay-up to COncorde and the Louvre. The buses are really easy to use since they have video displays of the next stops. Here is a link to its map: http://www.ratp.info/orienter/f_plan...loc=bus_paris/ Have a great time-I used to live very near there in the 3rd and walked to the Louvre all the time-and I am not especially fit :) |
See, told you so. When you least expect it, something comes through! Congrats and have a ball! Happy Travels!

I suspect you will fall in love with the island and its environs. It is quite peaceful in the early morning. Notre Dame is a short stroll across a short bridge. The Conciergerie and St-Chapelle are too. All are worth visits.
