Help... on which van company from Charles de Gaulle to hotel in Paris central
I think there are a couple of large companies that take people directly to their hotel....what experiences have you had? and have you any strong opinions one way or the other? (is one Airport Connection? and I forget the other one) Perhaps there are more, OR other methods directly to the hotel without taking the airport bus and THEN still having to take a taxi to the hotel.
There will be two couples, 4 of us. Thanks

There's not a service that someone hasn't had problems with - not showing up, showing up very late, etc. Do yourselves a favor- walk outside and take a taxi, or two taxis if necessary. Just be sure they're the ones with "Taxi Parisien" on the top. For more got to: www.anamericaninparis.com

Call me conservative, but I stick with taxis from the airport. It costs more but it is worry free. If you're coming in at Charles de Gaulle the taxi line is right outside the arrival terminal. Just get in the queue and you'll be on your way in 5 minutes. I travel to Europe fairly frequently and always spend the first night in Paris on my way south. The fair has never been in any way outrageous and you get there fast. My adice is that the expensive thing that you're spending in Paris isn't money, it's time, because you'll only be there a short time and there's a lot to see.
Following the same logic, once you're at your hotel stick with the Metro every day. It's the fastest, easiest, and cheapest.

Last three trips to Paris I have taken the RER, a taxi and the Paris Shuttle. This time there will be three of us and maybe 4. I have a faint memory that Parisian taxis will not take 4 people. [Luggage isn't an issue. I have these people TRAINED.] We're staying on Line 8 [near rue Cler] so RER isn't real convenient. So advice dear fodorites?
