We didn't have the full tea but did have a cream tea at the National Portrait Gallery two weeks ago, and the scones were a bit tough around the edges as if they had been warmed in a microwave.

The view, however, was wonderful.

Sorry about "Cathedral" - you're absolutely right - guess I was dazzing a bit. There IS a hill - from the bottom of Trafalgar square up past St. Martin's and continue up past the National Gallery - at least it is to my overburdened knees. You're right about the scones - why in the world have they started warming them up? I've run into it everywhere - but only in the last year or so - hot melty butter - not at all traditional. Fresh baked is one thing, but hot - NOT! Dinners, however, aren't microwaved & are quite delicious!
