Help on Italy itinerary
Hi,
I am planning an itinerary as follows (arrival in and departure from Rome) :
Rome - 3 days , then heading Naples by train
Naples - 2 days, then heading Praiano
Praiano – 2 days (visiting Amalfi Coast, Positano, Ravello, etc by SITA buses, then heading Palermo by Trenitalia)
Palermo – 3 or 4 days
Questions :
1- Wouldn´t like to rent a car in Sicily as we are planning to stay in Palermo and visit Taormina. Could someone suggest a tour agency to take us to Taormina ?
2- Also would like to include Athens in the itinerary....
Welcome any suggestions !

Midori - Rather than taking the train to Palermo (8 hrs+), have you considered taking an overnight ferry instead?
You could take the Caronte overnight ferry from Salerno to Catania or Messina.

That way you could visit Taormina en route to Palermo - and save the expense of a long day-trip there from Palermo.
Alternatively you could take an overnight train to Taormina from Salerno ...
Hope this helps ...

Hi Ira and Steve, tks for your inputs.
Ira, I will visit Athens in our next trip as schedule would be tight this time.
Steve, thanks for yr suggestion, much better than I had planned.
By the way, what´s your opinion about renting a car ? haven´t decided whether renting or not.
