Help on decision on Orvieto B&B and side trip to Sovana

Thanks for all the help & recommendations on Siena, I am now down to two B&Bs in Orvieto.

B&B Valentina & B&B Michelangeli--price is the same, so it's hard to choose. Any comments or thoughts would be much appreciated.

Also, looking for any experience or ideas about getting to Sovana for a day trip from Orvieto.

Don't know if I'm too late, but here goes:

I've been to Sovana several times, it's easy to find by car. From Orvieto it's maybe an hour to an hour and a half drive. This is one of the tiniest towns of all, really just one main street, you can walk the enire town in no time. Fabulous lunch!

Kris,

I remember a very old trip report in which the Fodorite stayed at B&B Valentina and loved it. Long ago, but you might try a search using the box above.

Our stay was at Palazzo Piccolomini and we were very happy with it.

Buon viaggio!

Since you are going to Sovana, there are two very interesting little towns nearby: Sorano and Pitigliano. The road from Sovana coming into Sorano has these great cliffs with the Etruscan caves. Pitigliano is livlier than the other two, set on a cliff.
