Help needed looking for an infinity pool in Greece
We are going on a trip to Greece in October. We are going on a package trip, so all of our hotels are already booked. We'll be staying on Mykonos, Paros, Santorini and Crete and my friend has dreamed of swimming in a beautiful infinity pool in a beautiful setting. Unfortunately, I don't think any of our hotels have one. Is it possible to pay to use another hotels facilities? Any ideas or suggestions would be great.

I doubt it, but you can ask. Contact the Katikies Hotel on Santorini.

Thank you Brotherleelove. I suppose it can't hurt to try. It sure would be nice to stay there!

The reason I have doubts is that at this hotel or any other of this quality there is an air of exclusivity that I believe would prevent them from opening their facilities to non-guests. I'm thinking their guests would not appreciate outsiders coming in and disturbing their paid-for privacy. Where would the hotel draw the line? They couldn't.

I hear ya !! Sigh.........

I'm sure some of the places at Elounda (on Crete)have infinity pools. No idea if they would let you use them
|
Thak you Sheila. Maybe we can find one in that area once we get there.
My friend would really like that. I msut admit, I think it would be great too. |
Don't give up,Kodi.Money talks.Lots of hotels and resorts will allow non-guests to pay a day-use fee for their facilities.I haven't tried it in Greece,but it's worth a shot.Good luck.

I don't know if the pool there qualifies as an "infinity", but the Myconos Grand pool and hotel are both located just this side of heaven!
|
Thank you both so much. I won't give up! and I will check out Myconos Grand Hotel. Well just set our mind to doing it ....and we will!!!

In Imerovigli, Fira and Firostefani are most of the superb Santorini infinity pools. Many hotels there offer only few apartments, and the atmosphere is very intimate, so I don't think they'll grant you access to their infinity pools. Still, there are some resorts like Homeric Poems or Chromata that will allow travellers outside the hotel to enjoy their infinity pool for a fee. You can see here some amazing infinity pools pictures from Santorini and not only http://www.photographymojo.com/2010/...ools-pictures/. Have a great time!

Hi
Have a look at Anastasis Apartments - http://www.anastasisapartments.com or Andronis Luxury Suites - http://www.andronis-suites.com. If you like these (or any other options) you can elect to cancel your hotel booking in favour of another. Generally not a problem if you give at least 24 hours notice. Unless you got an exceptional rate by advance purchasing your room. If this is the case then you're locked in unless you want to lose all your money! |
Hi,
I understand the idea of an infinity pool. The first time I went to Santorini we stayed at the Katikies because I saw a picture of the pool in a magazine. That was in 1999 and the room was $130 a night. It was heaven. I still sigh at the pictures. yipper |
WE did go to Greece 4 years ago, and unfortunately did not have a chance to enjoy an infinity pool.
Thank you so much for the additional information. I will certainly make note for my next visit. |
