Help needed getting from airport to hotel (london & paris)

Greetings! Only one week to go until our anniversary trip to London and Paris. I think that we have all the details worked out except I am a bit concerned with how to navigate the rails and tubes to our hotel in both destinations. Any hints would be wonderful!

Fly into Gatwick
Take Gatwick express to London Victoria
London Victoria to ???? to hotel near Charring Cross station.

To Paris
Charring cross station to ???? to London Waterloo Int
Paris Nord to ???? to Ecole Militaire station

All I need to figure out is what to do with the ????.

Thanks!
- Kevin

How much luggage? If you each are only carrying a gym bag sized piece, just take the tube. If you take the tube:
1)Take the Circle or District line from Victori, then transfer to Bakerloo or Northern line to your hotel.
2)Take Bakerloo or Northern line to Waterloo Int'l for your trip to Paris
3)From the Gare du Nord train station in Paris, take the #4 line to Strasborg/St. Denis and transfer to a #8 to Ecole Militaire.

Otherwise just take taxis:
1) From Victoria train station to your hotel at Charring Cross.
2) From Gare du Nord station to your hotel at Ecole Militaire.

The least effort train route from Gatwick to the Charing Cross area is to get the Thameslink train to London Bridge.

Practically all other trains leaving London Bridge go on to Charing Cross railway station. There's usually one on more or less the same platform you've come in on from Gatwick within 5 mins or so.

The nicest way from Charing Cross to Waterloo is just to walk across the pedestrian bridge. If luggage gets in the way, the likelihood is that Embankment tube, one stop from Waterloo, will be your handiest tube stop.

From Gatwick:

Southern Trains to Charing Cross station. £5 with a DaySave fare.

From Charing Cross:

#176 or #139 bus or Bakerloo or Central Line or walk.

From Gare du Nord:

Bus N° 42 to Champ de Mars (free tour of major sights!), then N° 87 to École Militaire.

(If you have an RATP pass, this trip will cost €0.)
