Help needed from Heathrow Experts

OK - here's a question for the experts. Next Friday we arrive at 18 from Zurich at T5. Our choices to NYC (last flights outs) are AA (T3 at 20:05) or BA (T4 at 20:00).

T3 looks closer to T5 - but I don't know what pattern the airport buses take.

Which of these do will be a faster connection? Or is it a wash?

And given we're Business, with carry-ons only - is there ANY chance to make this? (We can't get out of Zurich any earlier.)

Sorry - one more.

What hotel is closest/fastest to the airport if we get stuck overnight? But it needs to be pleasant - preferably with good food - not budget.

Are you sure the JFK flight will be leaving from T4? I thought all BA flightsw are now T5...

With the chaos going on with baggage, the last thing you want to do, if you have a choice, is interline...I would go for the BA flight which you should make without too much of a problem as I would expect they will get most of the kinks out of the system this week.

The Heathrow on-line connecting search says the flight to JFK on BA is out of T4. And we don;t have any checked baggage.

I suppose I'll have to try to call BA and find out where the flight is really leaving from.

Nytraveler: Since we don't have crystal ball it is hard to know if the T-5 mess will be better next week or not. if you meant 1800 for your arrival at T-5 - both of those connections will probably be cutting it close if there are any sort of residual problems (even if the T-5 flight arrives as scheduled)

I'd book either one and then make sure you have a change of clothes in your carry on since there is a semi-good chance you'll be spending the night in London.</i>

Now w/ the added info of no checked bags - that helps a bit but still doesn't answer what sort of shape T-5 operations will be like by next week.

re your 2nd question -- There are all sorts of hotels near LHR - all about equally convenient. Or you can always try the Hilton at T-4
