Help needed, austrian skiing week before Christmas!

3 famalies are going skiing to Austria the week before Christmas this year. We really need advice on where to go that will have snow and any tips on renting a house or large condo. We will be driving from Stuttgart Germany to Austria. I tried posting similar question earlier but no one responded, maybe this time is better. Thank you!

For families maybe:
Steinplatte, also has quite a few beginners runs
http://www.steinplatte.co.at/ staying right in Waidring or maybe St Johann.
But your alternatives are endless...

you got a very informative response on your other thread . . . .

(usually it is better to post to the original thread instead of starting a new one on the same topic. Otherwise you can get lots of confusing info since not everyone will have seen both threads/other posts)

That early in the season there's no guarantee of snow at any resort in the Alps unless you go a high resort like Obergurgel or which has glacier skiing and then you have to worry about the weather.

And don't forget you are considering skiing during the week with the shortest days of the year.

Alan, in mid December there's snow at 2000m altitude. In a few years maybe not but it's not yet THAT dramatic.
