HELP Need transportation info
 

Hi to all. We will be leaving on our Mediterranean cruise in a few days and still trying to tie up a few loose ends. The only port that I have not "figured my way around" is Livorno. My family would like to tour Pisa and Florence on our own. I have looked up info on transportation from port city Livorno to Pisa and Florence to no avail. I would like to find the best way of getting from the cruise pier @ Livorno to both Pisa and Florence. I would prefer to avoid private motor coach due to expense, would prefer either bus or train. Any help would be appreciated.

The trains from Pisa Centrale to Florence are frequent and trip time is about 1 hour depending on which type of train. I haven't traveled from Livorno to Pisa but it appears train time is 15 minutes. www.trenitalia.com

You will likely have better luck if you re-post this w/ a better title. "HELP Need transportation info" could be asking about anywhere in Europe.

Something like "Transport options from Livorno to Pisa/Florence?"

Train schedules are at www.trenitalia.com/en for livorno Centrale to Pisa and Pisa/Florence.

You will want to get a cab from the dock to the train station. Have the purser arrange it for you.

You are going to have a very busy day in Florence. Why not Pisa and Lucca - a very nice hilltop town?
