Help - Need Driver from Rome to Pompeii

Aloha,
We are staying in Rome and would like to take a day trip to Pompeii. We will be a group of 8 and it might be more cost effective to hire a driver, not to mention faster for travel from Rome to Pompeii. Any idea on cost and drivers you would recommend? Thank you for any input you may have. Also any idea on the last train from Pompeii or Sorrento to Rome if we were to train?
Mahalo

answering for you, ttt, i believe, means to the top, so it won't get buried by other recent posts and others will see it

there is a great thread on here i read yesterday titled: Helpful Hints:Italy

If you put it in the search bar, I thought there was some info about drivers there that were recommended, if not, try just 'private drivers' or something in the search bar because I've seen lists on here somewhere,........does someone else remember where that was?

We used Vatican Tours and Beyond (google it) for several tours including a private driver in a van to Pompeii, then to the Naples museum (a must) with private guides waiting for us at both stops. It was a very long day, but great. The only regret is that I could have spent all day in Pompeii alone, but that will be another trip! This company was very good. I wouldn't recommend the "local" eatery the guide took us to--expensive and full of tourist, but not bad. I would pick up or take a sandwich lunch the next time.
The drive was long, so you may want to check out the difference in train time and driving, but not having to worry logistics was rather nice.

Thank you Amart, Do you recall how much the driver was?

I am posting the website. The tours can be customized, therefore the costs are different depending on what you want to do. It was not cheap, but when we compared the cost of travelling over and having the time of our life to the cost of private tours, it was reasonable. http://www.vaticantoursinc.com/index_.php http://www.vaticantoursinc.com/tours...OM-ROME.php#22
