Help need advice
Im flying over for my Nan's Mass on Sunday 6th January. I will be staying with family in Dundalk but quite fancy spending a week travelling about.
I would love to go South and visit Cork and places near by. I'll be driving on my own so dont really want to do too much driving. I feel four hours in the car on my own is quite long enough. Any ideas on places that i just have to see? I will need to work my way back to Dundalk/ Dublin for the return flight. |
You may want to repost with a more meaningful title. Most everyone posting is looking for advice.

Cork is a great place stay. Very beautiful.
Check out this site. It has pictures. http://irelandtravel.jopin.com/ |
Would definitely check out the West Cork area -- particularly Kinsale, which is a wonderful, scenic seaside town with fantastic restaurants.

West Cork is fantastic but a long way from Dundalk if you're not keen on driving. it's about an hour to Kinsale (one of the West Cork gateways) from Cork city- itself a good 3 hours from Dublin. Dundalk is about 1.5 hours from Dublin (although times depend on traffic etc).
I would break your journey before you hit W Cork. Check here: http://www.hidden-dublin.com/tours/munster_index.html for a driving tour of West Cork. Remember that while Ireland seems a small island, it can take quite some time to travel it in comfort! Peter (Dublin-born and bred) |
