Help mispelt first name on TGV PREMS
Whilst purchasing PREMS tickets (first time with lots of helpful reading on this site) we purchased 6 tickets however a spelling mistake was made on the first name for one of the passengers. Everything else is correct. Will this be a major problem and if so how can we rectifiy this.
I felt great getting a good deal and now feel awful once realising my mistake. Sleepless nights. We have already printed the tickets so cannot modify them |
As long as it is obvious that it is a spelling mistake, nobody will care.

You will not be sent to railway prison. That's the advantage of having human beings checking the tickets rather than robots who might say "This does not compute!"
Have your credit card that you used to make the booking, and have your passports handy. Most likely, the agent will have zero interest in doing a cross-comparison, but will just punch the tickets.
When the time comes to have the tickets checked, don't try to be helpful and point out the error. I think they are more interested in whether you are on the right train on the right date.
Agree with all above. At least the birth date is correct I suppoose?
Unless you typed 'Caroline' when you should have typed 'Ralph' it is unlikely that such a mistake would ever be noticed.
This won't be an issue. Do NOT point it out to anyone, and if anyone notices (very, very unlikely), just act as surprised as they are.
They did not even look at our PREMS tickets much less collect them on a recent trip from Paris to Avignon and back to Paris although we had them out and ready.
PREMs are just pieces of paper, there wouldn't be any reason to collect them. There isn't anything you can do with them, anyway, they are nonrefundable and only for a specific train. I think the conductor has usually looked at mine, and I think checked my passport, actually.

They always scan mine with their laser gun.

Did mine too not always but maybe half of the times. No they don't collect the tickets. That's for you to throw away after your travel. That's not to say OP should be worried. With piccolissimo tickets (€20)that are not printable but they send to my place by post, so far they have never checked my ID although my name is printed on the ticket (no birthdate). |
Thank you all for your replies
Yes I did get the birthdates and surnames correct. You have all put my mind at ease. Its only that it was my friends ticket so I felt guilty. I will definitely not point out the error. Maybe I will wear a short skirt on that day! ha ha (not likely) |
