Help me with Greece!!!!!
 

I would like some help with an itinery with Greece for April/May 99. I am particularly interested in seeing Athens, etc but I would like to spend most of my time in the islands or along the coast. I'm an avid photographer and it seems as if there is just too much I'd want to see. Any suggestions???

Hello Neal, We just got back from 3 weeks in Greece and I have some definate <BR>ideas for you. If you want great pics, <BR>forget Athens and get to Santorini as <BR>fast as Olympic can get you there. Stay at Oia, on the north end, and lose your mind and several rolls of film. You can do other islands from there or fly back to Athens and get a car and drive in the Peleponese for several days--to include Nafplio, the Mani, and Olympia <BR>Contact me directlyif you want more detail. After 13 trips to Europe in the past 15 years---and lots of exposed film---the Santorini experience was <BR>special. May is a great time to go.

<BR>Spend about 2 days in Athens (go to Sounion-about 2 hours from Athens on one day) then head straight to the islands. Santorini is just magical. The above post is 100% right. Oia is the place to stay. Another great island that is much less touristy is Lesvos. A beatiful island, very cheap, very friendly and large enough to explore on your own. One of my favorites.

Our Honeymoon this past April/May included Athens (2 1/2 days) and Santorini. If you never seen the Acropolis and well as the Ancient Agora, they are a must! Santorini has to be one of the most beautiful places on earth! It was one of our highlights. I've also heard Mykonos/Crete are great.

Santorini is truly a photographers paradise. Try to be in Greece for Easter which is April 11 next year. email me for more ideas. I live in Santorini part of the year.
