Help me pick Prague or Budapest...Please!
Hi
Have the oppurtunity to travel with my family after Christmas to Paris. Since i have been there several times before my hubby and I want to include another place we have not been to. My teacher suggested Budapest over Prague...what do you think. Thanks for your time. |
Been to both, enjoyed both but if I had to choose one again it would be Prague.
I have also been to and enjoyed both but if I had to choose, it would be Prague, every time. It's quite magical around Chrismas and I think the Christmas markets are on until 6th January.
Have been to both. Really like both. Would choose Prague. However, Budapest might be a good choice because it probably will be a lot less crowded - everyone will be in Prague.
Budapest is such a great place for Spring and Prague for Winter that your timing basically decides the matter. But Prague will be brutally crowded, like Krakow is at the same time of year.
I've been to both. I love both, but I would choose Prague. You won't be disappointed in either.
Prague over Budapest in the winter-friends say they have a great Christmas market in the square. Have fun!
I've been to both in winter -- mid-March in the case of Prague.
Budapest appeals to a more sophisticated palate, IMO. Plus I kinda resented all those drunk punters, citizens of a former world empire on which the sun never set, puking around me in Prague. Just one person's opinion.... |
Budapest- a charming town. I'll pass on Prague.
Another vote for Budapest - Prague was already overcrowded four years ago, I can't imagine what it's like now. Plenty to do in Budapest, which also has good views along the river. Good food, good public transport, some possible day trips, too.
Thank you so much!!
I am trying to get flights noa and appreciate all the advice. We are thinking about going somewhere closer to Paris as I have to fly out of there. ANy suggestions from the experts. |
London! My favorite big city, with loads to do, quite a bit of it free.
I have been to PRAGUE, and enjoyed the city. It was good for a short visit, as the city is not that large.
Everyone I know who has visited Budapest really enjoyed their experience there also. Yes.............PRAGUE was very crowded, but it is a small city so all the visitors and touriswts all visit the exact same sights. I have heard Budapest is a little more sophisticated then PRAGUE, which I will soon find out for myself, as my trip to BUDAPEST is this month. If you can get your reservations confirmed soon, you should be happy with either choice. NOTE:Hungary is not on the EURO yet, so may be more economical right now! Trend Girl |
I think that argument applies to Prague as well, because it's still using Koruna instead of Euro. Prague is actually sprawling big with multiple districts but the most visited areas are the Old Town and the Little Town. Yet there are plenty to explore in the New Town as well.
