Paris is 'historic'. Why not spend more time there?

StCirq Feb 28th, 2012 07:57 AM

You can hardly get more historic than Paris. Not sure why you feel compelled to bounce all around the place when Paris is right there to be savored.

yeah .. we may not enter meuseums. we might just take a day tour to see all places in paris. SO 2 days is enough. I dont want get stuck in lot of touristy places.

Will chateaus in Loire Valley, Normandy , M-S_M open on sunday-monday-tuesday. I read that most of things in paris are closed in tues and mondays.

<<we might just take a day tour to see all places in paris. SO 2 days is enough. I dont want get stuck in lot of touristy places.>>

You can't "take a day tour to see all places in Paris." That's completely unrealistic. And EVERY place you've listed is "touristy." There's no avoiding that. You're a tourist.

Check online for what's open when.

Well..
Arene de Lutece - roman arena
Cluny Museum, built in convent, over ruins of roman baths
Catacombs...graveyard from the 1700's
Louvre..in basement can see original walls of the fortress from 1190. Also, winter home of the kings of France.
Place de la Concorde..where one of the last kings of france lost his head (with thousands of others).
Rue de Buci area...where Guillotine first tested his blade.
Notre Dame, over 800 years old
Sainte Chapelle, 1200s to 1440s
St. Denis...burial palces of kings for centuries
Timbered buildings from 1500s on rue francois Miron
....
