Help me find tickets for a Paris Opera

I've booked the flights, got the accomodations, and have a wonderful itinerary planned for my May trip to Paris. I really wanted to attend the May 17th performance of "La Traviata", but according to the website, it is sold out! Can anyone help me with alternate suggestions on how to get tickets? TIA, Barb

Call the Opera house but be prepared for it to take a long time to get someone that speaks English well enough to book the tickets. I had to wait until 4-5 weeks before the performance to buy the tickets. There is a good chance they are sold out though. Its well worth it to see the New Opera House as its a fantastic building.

Try the search engine ilor.com Type in their search box buy Paris opera tickets or something similar. You will probably find ticket agents that may have tickets for a hefty premium.

I've checked a couple French ticket broker sites and they all say it is sold out, also, so it must really be. I don't have any magic answer except to try the concierge of your hotel, and calling them directly, as suggested. Sometimes when they won't sell on the web, they do have tickets available at the box office, however, as I've gotten them in such a case. I think they don't sell some of the cheapest seats on the web, either, only at the box office. So, you can stop by when you are there to check, but doesn't look good.

Barb, I followed the advice I gave you & went to ilor.com, found a site that was selling tickets for $270! It appears that's the last night & it's a Sat.

Thanks, everyone for the input; I guess I'll miss it this time. Too bad, last June, I was able to see "Barber of Seville", and I really loved it! Ironically, my husband and I saw it performed in English in London, in Italian in Rome, and again in Italian, but with French supertitles, in Paris. What I'd really love to see is a ballet at the Opera Garnier, but nothing is on while I'm there. Thanks again.
