Help me choose my apartment in Prague!

Hello!

Our list is down to 2 apartments. I've taken a look with Google Street and they seem to be in opposite nighbourhoods in terms of ambiance!

The first one seems to be in a very touristy area. Will we find nice restaurants and bars not overcrowded with tourists? http://www.vrbo.com/287729

This one seems off the center, but surrounded by businesses. Are there nice places to have a drink and eat in a walking distance? http://www.homelidays.co.uk/prague/a...-255591en1.htm

Merci!

the first one is likely to be pretty busy during the day though that particular street may be fairly quiet as it is not on a direct path to the catle area but from memory that area is a pretty steep clmb. I have been in the area at night though not recently and it seemed pretty quiet you are near loads of resturants and bars. Its an area i have passed through many times but have not used mnay resturants or bars nearby.you are only a short walk from a tram stop that will get you too other parts of the city and the Kampa area is just of Charles bridge ( 5 minutes walk away) some nice bars an resurants there.
the second one is in a not too bad area, old town and
the Josefov area walkable but the metro is close as is a few trams.may find cheaper resturants here also easy to get to Karlin and Zizkov areas where the cheaper more local bars and resturants are.
I think the both are good options.

can i ask when you are visiting?

I like the location of the first one. It's closer to most of the things in Prague we enjoyed. The second one is somewhat close to the Florenc metro station. If you were planning to use that station, we were advised to avoid it in the evening.

Florenc is fine as is all of Prague,i have been there early morning and very late at night ,never had a problem

Stay in Prague 1 (the VRBO apartment), not any other area. At last check, you're a tourist too and it is located with tourists in mind.

We were just in Prague this past Octob. I would gladly stay in the first option. It is well located so you can do just about everything by foot, We really loved Prague. You can hardly go wrong.

unclegus, I was referring specifically to the Florenc metro station. The warning came from our hotel, in other words, locals.

We were in Prague last Spring. We stayed in the area near the VRBO apartment. I would definitely recommend it. The area was great --lots of charm. You will love Prague!

Thanks to all! I think we will finally stay just on the other side of the Charles Bridge. Like you all say, I think we can't go wrong! :)
