Help! Luggage transfer in France!
 

Hello:

Does anyone know of a company that transfers luggage from hotel to hotel in France?
Our research turns up companies in Spain for the Camino Santiago, but so far, none in France.

We are trekking with backpacks (hopefully, light!) in Alsace and Burgundy but also need suitcases for which we would like a transfer service....

Luggage transfer from Strasbourg to Colmar;
(trek to Colmar - then train with luggage from Colmar to Dijon);
Luggage transfer from Dijon to Beaune;
(trek to Beaune - then renting car to Champagne).

Start with www.google.fr I find you'll get more hits from google in the country you're traveling in.

Also, check walking and bicycle tour companies for the services they provide.

Sernam is in or opposite it seems very train station in France - SNCF owned or subsidiary I believe but does do door to door service.

SERNAM does not exist any longer. It used to be a SNCF subsidiary until 2002. It was privatized in 2005 and filed for bankrupcy in January 2012. It has been bought by Geodis Calberson.

And oddly enough, Géodis has now been bought by the SNCF.

However, you should never travel with more luggage than you can carry yourself.

No personal experience but a friend used them in the south of France and had good things to say. They seem to operate all over the country.
