help London Luton to Gatwick

How is the best and least expensive way to get from Luton airport to Gatwick airport? Thanks for any and all help in this matter!

May not be least expensive but trains cetainly quickest - direct trains from Luton Airport to Gatwick Airport can 1 hr 20 minutes - with about two trains an hour it seems. there may be some kind of inter-airport buses but don't know about that but hard to beat train. www.nationalrail.co.uk for fares and schedules.

The train is fastest but also check out the bus transfer. i would perfer it as I think it is easiest.

As well as the train there is also a coach service (National Express)which connects the two airports and may well be cheaper but be aware this uses very busy motorways where hold ups happen most days so if you decide on this because of cost make sure you allow plenty of time.

Alas British trains are also subject to interminable delays, but probably much less than the bus which must ply off bottled up highways - there is no autoroute that goes thru London, only the Orbital that goes around it. But also leave plenty of time with the rail link, which although it's as convenient as a taxi in terms of where it arrives at Gatwick - right under the departure hall - but this rail line that goes under central London is also plagued by delays but usually not for that long but you never know.

as the others say - the fastest would be the train. But even that can have delays -- especially on weekends when they do most of the construction/repair work.

But how long do you have for the transfer? Before we can make a reasonable recommendation we need to know if your plan is even feasible . . . .

I'll have about 5 hours for the transfer, on a Tuesday morning. THANKS so much for all the help!!
