Reggio Emilia for 1 week

Going to Reggio Emilia for 1 week. I have a conference for a few days but would like to know where I can go and what else I can do there. I love nature, art and of course good food.

For art, Florence. It is the birthplace of Renaissance. The top museums, Uffizi and Accademia, require reservations most of the time.
For food, Bologna is hard to beat. If it is too far, you can try Parma.

Parma, Modena, Bologna, Varenna were all day trips for us in Reggio Emilia. Try to make reservations to go to a cheese, prosciutto, or vinegar production place.

May be rather Ravenna than Varenna

Thanks Neckervd for catching that. I'm always mixing the two towns up!

Take a look at Hosteria Giusti in Modena. Lunch only. Four tables. Memorable.
